Fr Agnelo YSR Paroda drubbed Cuncolim 3-0 to enter the semifinals of the Cavelossim Panchayat Rolling Trophy Inter-Village football tournament sponsored by Cavelossim panchayat and organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, played at Fr Druston and Wellington Ground Cavelossim.
Paroda started the match on a positive note. In the 12th minute, a cross from Norman Dias was acrobatically volleyed into the net by Velroy Carvalho giving no chance to Cuncolim keeper Hrishikesh Gaonkar. Within a space of 5 minutes, Paroda mounted another attack from the left flank with Marcus feeding Selton Fernandes who dodged past the Cuncolim defenders to place the ball into the extreme right conner of the goal to make the score 2-0 at lemon time.
Crossing over Paroda did not let their foot off the paddle with Velroy Carvalho putting the final nail into Cuncolim coffin, when he fired a power packed drive which was deflected by Cuncolim keeper into the goal. Paroda will clash with Curtorim Gymkhana on May 26 in the first semis. The Man of the Match was awarded to Velroy Carvalho of Paroda.
