Roque Dias, the former executive director of Sports Authority of India (SAI) believes that Tokyo Games will prove to be a watershed event for Indian sports, where the country's contingent will win its highest ever medal tally.
Dias is proud of the number of Indians that have qualified for the Olympics, especially since he pioneered a scheme for training players for the Olympics in the country. “This is the most promising team ever participating at the Olympics,” Dias said.
Dias, who hails from Santa Cruz, has been deputy director general, Commonwealth Games 2010, technical advisor for BRICS Football 2016, project director of 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup. 
The former national badminton player and NIS coach recalled his concept for preparing the team initiated 10 years ago when he was directed by the DG, SAI to chalk out a strategy to improve Indian performance at the Olympics.
His research and promotion of Yoga in sports was instrumental as the practices of the ancient Indian discipline were incorporated into sports performance.
