Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna beat Betalbatim SC 6-2 to move into the quarterfinals of the 43rd St Joseph Festival football tournament, organised by Dramapur Sports Club at Dramapur ground, on Friday.
Jessloy Diniz scored for Rossman SC in the 3rd and 23rd minutes. Didymus Antao and Ronaldo Coelho netted a goal each in the 44th and 46th minutes respectively for Betalbatim to level the terms.
Andrew John and Joyston Pinho also recorded their names on the scoresheet to make it 4-2 for Rossman in the 60th and 62nd minutes respectively. Jessloy Diniz of Rossman scored two more goals, netting in the 66th and 70th minutes, to make it 6-2.
Marquis re-elected Goans Hockey president
Costau Xavier Marquis was re-elected unopposed as president of Goans Hockey at the general body meeting cum election held at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim.
The new executive committee: Vice-presidents - Valanka D'Souza, Carl D'Souza, Secretary general - Farrel Furtado e Gracias, Treasurer - Anthony Alyosius A D Souza, Joint secretary - Mahesh Rivankar, Nelly Rodrigues, Executive members - Inacio Fernandes, Anjulo Fernandes, Amar Bahadur, Fouziya Shaikh; Co-opted members - former State hockey players, Dattesh Priolkar, Sam Braganza, Roger D'Souza and Danrette.
