Sridora Caculo College, Goa Medical College, and GVM’s College registered emphatic wins in the Goa University inter-collegiate football tournament, on Tuesday.

At Goa University ground, Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem defeated Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao 3-1 in the opening match. All goals came in an action-packed first half, with Quepem surging ahead through Suraj Gaonkar (21’), Samir Gaonkar (30’), and Daksh Nadvimanni (38’). Chowgule’s only response came from Adarsh Raj (32’).

SV’s Sridora Caculo College of Commerce & Management Studies, Mapusa delivered a commanding 5-1 win over VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao. Prajyot Naik (27’), Laximanrao Rane (29’), and Murphy Fernandes (33’) helped Caculo lead 3-0 at halftime. Fernandes struck again in the 59th minute, and Raunak Toraskar (71’) added the fifth. Damodar’s lone goal came from Sharmad Kurade (73’).

Murphy Fernandes was declared Best Performer for his two goals and exceptional play.

Goa Medical College raced to a 4-1 first-half lead against Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim, and held on to seal the match. Goals came early from Sahil Dhawaskar (2’), Bryson Colaco (8’), Vishan Kerkar (12’), and Leroy Fernandes (31’). Abhijit Gaunikar (15’) scored for the Nursing team.

Meanwhile, at Rosary Church ground, Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts & Commerce, Canacona thrashed Govt. College of Commerce & Economics, Borda, 6-1. Swapnil Velip (17’, 43’) and Bharat Gaonkar (19’, 45’) each scored a brace, while Swetan Gaonkar (23’) and Ashwin Daikar (55’) added one apiece. Jonah Duarte (59’) scored the solitary goal for Borda.

M.E.S Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Agnel Institute of Technology & Design, Assagao. Shravan Khavanekar (16’) opened the scoring, followed by goals from Manthan Honavankar (60’) and Aymaan Shaikh (70’) in the second half.

GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics, Farmagudi, overwhelmed SPES’s Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, 6-1. After an early goal by Anish Borkar (4’), the team scored five more in the second half. Devanand Tate (47’), Yash Gaonkar (60’, 64’), Vansh Gaonkar (63’), and Aditya Kumar (70’) rounded off the scoring. Dattaraj Gaonkar (54’) scored the only goal for Multi-Faculty College.
