Goa women emerged as the runners-up at the All India Inter Zonal Tennis Ball Cricket Championship held at Ketti, Ooty in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The Goa men's team lost in the quarterfinals to Kerala.

In the final against Mumbai, Goa Women scored 83/4 in 8 overs batting first. Amisha Shetgaonkar (20) and Sharada Arondekar (13) were the top scorers. In reply, Mumbai chased down the target with a ball to spare, finishing on 84/4.

In the men's quarterfinal, Goa posted 39/6 in 6 overs batting first against Kerala. Anil Goswami (11) and Vallabh Naik (10) were the top run getters. Kerala overhauled the target in 5.2 overs for the loss of one wicket, scoring 40/0 to seal a nine-wicket win.

The Goa women's team was coached by Nilesh Naik, SAG coach and the team was led by Vinkita Naik. The championship was organised by Tamil Nadu Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India.
