MARGAOKaruna Football foundation’s Compassion FC in association with the Society of the Divine Word (SVD- Goa) will be organising an All India Inter Academy Girls under 16 football tournament namely the Legacy Cup from October 14-16 at the SVD ground, Raia. “We intend to promote the beautiful Game of football among the girls which is a legacy initiative of the foundation towards the FIFA Women’s Under 17 World Cup 2022 being held in Goa. All the participants apart from playing the league matches are also being given an opportunity to witness the World Cup matches live at Fatorda Stadium,” states a press release. The teams will also be addressed by Savio Madeira AIFF Head of Coaches Development and former National Coach as a part of the Legacy initiative to encourage girls participation in the game of football. They will also receive technical inputs from Heidi Scheunemann from Germany who is the technical advisor of the Compassion Football Academy.
Derrick, Manish retain 75 knots Regatta crowns
PANAJIGoa’s Derrick Menezes and Manish Kapileshwar retained their windsurfing and seabird titles respectively in the 75 Knots Regatta which concluded at Dolphin Watersports at Hawaii beach in Dona Paula. Manish along with his teammates, Cosme Silva and Ashok dominated from the start winning all six rounds and finishing with six points.
