MARGAOVerna Veterans put themselves up as favourites with a smooth 3-0 win against Candolim Veterans in the Above 40 tournament at the Sinquetim ground. Verna made their intentions clear from the start with Joerose Oliveira handing them the lead with a cool finish in the very second minute. After at least three tries hitting the framework, it was Francisco Calado who headed in a pinpoint cross from Remedious Barreto to double the score just five minutes into the second half. Four minutes later, Vincent Barbosa had an easy tap-in following a strong run down the left flank to all but finish the match.
