Bardez Veterans prevailed over Nuvem Veterans in a thrilling sudden-death tie-breaker 6-5, after a goalless draw in regular time, during the Panjim Veterans Football Tournament at the Taleigao ground.
The first half saw Nuvem Veterans take control, with midfielders Jason Cardozo and Jerose Oliver working well in tandem. However, in the second half, Bardez Veterans intensified their attack through Andriano Fernandes and Trevor Mascarenhas, but neither team could find the back of the net in the 90 minutes.
In the ensuing penalty shootout, Bardez Veterans emerged victorious with successful conversions from Benedict Fernandes, Gavin Araujo, Ambroz Fernandes, Govind Palekar, Narendra Gad, and Vikrant Sharma. Nuvem Veterans’ Agnelo Colaco, Jerose Oliver, Michael Barreto, Dominic Furtado, and Wilson Fernandes scored for their team, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
