Churchill Brothers wrap up successful grassroots football initiative

Churchill Brothers FC successfully concluded its two-week ‘Fun in the Sun’ Youth Football Camp at Rosary Ground, Navelim, on June 2, providing a major boost to grassroots football development in the region.

The initiative, spearheaded by Valanka Alemao, CEO of Churchill Brothers FC and a member of the AIFF and FIFA Women’s Football Committees, attracted an overwhelming response from the Navelim constituency, with as many as 269 boys and girls taking part.

The camp, which commenced on May 20, focused on nurturing young talent through structured training sessions that included age-specific fitness drills and football skill development programmes. To ensure a professional experience, all participants were provided with playing kits and daily refreshments by the club.

The valedictory function was attended by Chief Guest Vijai Sardesai, MLA of Fatorda and former Deputy Chief Minister of Goa. Also present were Churchill Alemao, Founder-President of Churchill Brothers FC and former Chief Minister of Goa, Savio Alemao, Director of the club, and Fatima Alemao, Director of Churchill Brothers FC, who encouraged and motivated the young participants.
