Punjab FC beat Mohun Bagan Super Giant by 2-0 in the National Group Stage of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) 2024 at the Duler Football Stadium, Mapusa to make a cracking start to the second round of the tournament.
Goals by Omang Dodum and Tekcham Abhishek Singh ensured that Punjab FC overcame the Mariners with comfortable ease in this Group D fixture opener.
Sudeva Delhi FC, runners-up of RFDL 2023, produced an entertaining goal-fest in the other match of the same group as they overcame Pax of Nagoa FC by 7-1.
A brace by Jaideep Singh was accompanied by a strike each by Freddy Lalrinkima, Haodamlian Vaiphei, Kamginsei Touthang, Ningzan Zingkhai, and Sankhil Darpol Tuishang. Pax of Nagoa FC could only respond with a solitary 56th minute goal by their captain Velroy Fernandes.
