This title was one that was bestowed to himby an age old Advertisement Agency ‘Innovations’ headed by Felicio Esteves.Rose Ferns was crowned as the ‘King of centuries’ in the year 1984 at a specialfelicitation function held in Panjim, by the then Commissioner of Customs andCentral Excise, Rajiv Talwar. Talwar was so impressed by the performance ofRose Ferns as a director and Playwright that he even spoke a few words inKonkani in the form of critical acclaim at the time of his felicitation.

This honour and title was given to Rose Ferns because he was the only directorand Playwright then, whose 5 non-stop plays in the form of Tapott, Dev voDevchar, Akant, Ghantt and Arso successfully completed a 100 shows each overthe course of five consecutive tiatr seasons. And so, by virtue of thisachievement for the first time by any artist of the Konkani stage, Rose Fernswas named the ‘King of Centuries’ and continues to wear the crown till date.

The singer returns to the stage and repeats a part of the sameperformance for the pleasure of his audience.
