Aashrun, Anjana win; Arjun bags double

Aashrun Gautam and Anjana Kumari walked away with the Under-19 boys and girls singles titles, at the 12th Dhond Memorial Major Ranking Badminton Tournament at indoor stadium, Campal. Aashrun capped an outstanding season to claim his third singles title in succession while Anjana, who had lost out in the previous two tournaments made amends by winning the season-ending championship.
For young Margao-shuttler Arjun Fallary, it was a double delight as he won the under-17 boys singles and doubles titles. He partnered Rudra Dukle in the doubles. Yasmin Sayed emerged under-17 girls singles winner. In boys doubles under-19 event, Yash Kunkolienker and Sushil Nayak came back from a set down to emerge winners in enthralling finals that went the whole distance. Monica Dourado, Project Officer, Sports Authority of Goa, India's top-ranking Goan shuttler, Anura Prabhudesai, tournament promoter Gaurish Dhond were present for the finals.
