Adambakkam CA (Chennai) booked their place in the final of the 7th All India Bhikoo Pai Angle Memorial U-15 Cricket Tournament after a thrilling five-wicket win over M S Dhoni CA in the second semi-final. Adambakkam will now face Dwarka C.A. (Nashik), who triumphed over the Sports Authority of Goa in the first semi-final, in what promises to be an exciting finale.
The second semi-final, played at the picturesque Chicalim Ground, saw Adambakkam C.A. successfully chase down a modest target of 92 set by M S Dhoni CA. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Adambakkam's bowlers dominated proceedings. The Chennai side restricted Dhoni C.A. to just 91 all out in 32.5 overs, with Prathamesh S. being the star performer with the ball, taking 5 wickets for just 18 runs. Saharsh also chipped in with 2 wickets for 18 runs, keeping the opposition in check throughout.
In reply, Adambakkam made steady progress, reaching the target of 92 in just 12.3 overs. Rohith's composed 41* anchored the chase, while Prathamesh S., who had earlier shone with the ball, added 14 runs to ensure a comfortable win. Despite a spirited effort from Abhimaan Singh, who claimed 3 wickets for 38 runs, Dhoni C.A. could not stop Adambakkam from securing a place in the final.
Earlier in the day, Dwarka C.A. emerged victorious in a tense encounter against the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG). Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Dwarka posted a competitive total of 193/8 in 45 overs. Karan Kohle played a match-winning knock of 71* not out, anchoring the innings for his side. Aarav Ahire (30) and Sparsh Vidhate (26) also made useful contributions with the bat.
In response, SAG's chase never truly gained momentum. Despite a fighting 33 from Atharva Sanvordekar, and contributions from Shaurya Chodankar (29) and Rutvik Laad (32), SAG were bowled out for 161 in 43 overs. Kalash Ghiya (3/35) and Atharva Dhule (2/37) led the way for Dwarka with the ball, taking crucial wickets to help their team secure a 32-run victory.
