A Level 1 Asian Football Confederation Futsal Course held at Chowgule Futsal Court concluded recently.
This is the third AFC Futsal Coaching Course being held at this venue. The first being in 2018 and the second in 2019 both were organized by YFA (Youth Futsal Academy), who are organizing the present one in association with GFA (Goa Football Association) which is the state football association under AIFF.
The trainees gave their practical exams in the afternoon. 15 Futsal coaches completed the course under AFC coach educator Joshuah Stan Vaz. Vaz spoke of the trainees, "I am very happy that India is going to have good Futsal coaches. I have seen very positive things during our course."
GFA President Dr Caitano Fernandes said Goa and India are trying to be at the forefront of the futsal revolution in the country, and we are very fortunate to have this opportunity thanks to the AFC and the AIFF.
Joshuah Stan Vaz from Goa (the only certified Futsal Coach Educator in the country) and three Goans namely Sherman Vaz, Nathan Gonsalves and Jonathan Faleiro are participants in this course along with six from Karnataka, four from Maharastra, one each from Punjab and Telangana completed the course. There are two female participants also present.
