MARGAO
The six-day AFC Futsal Coaching Certificate Course — Level 1 concluded at Chowgules Sports Centre, Margao, with coaches from across the country undergoing intensive practical and theoretical sessions.
The course was organised by Futebol Club YFA in association with the Goa Football Association (GFA) and All India Football Federation (AIFF), as part of efforts to strengthen futsal coach education in Goa and India.
AFC Elite Tutor Joshuah Stan Vaz of Goa conducted the course, assisted by AIFF tutors Akshay Sawant of Maharashtra and Veerababu Sivaneni of Pondicherry.
The participants underwent classroom sessions, practical training and discussions based on AFC coaching methodologies. The programme focused on understanding the game, planning structured training sessions and applying appropriate coaching techniques in practical situations.
The course is expected to help develop a pool of qualified coaches capable of contributing to futsal development at grassroots, youth and senior levels.
The closing ceremony was attended by GFA president Dr Caitano Fernandes, senior vice-president Anthony Pango and Futebol Club YFA director Socorro Vaz.
