Indian teams completed a clean sweep at the inaugural South Asian Dripball Championship 2026 in Kathmandu, Nepal, winning gold in all three contested divisions — U-17 Boys, U-17 Girls and Senior Boys.
Goan players played a key role in India's success, with Aniket Jagannath Gauns and Dhiraj Naresh Matonkar featuring in the victorious Senior Boys team.
The duo impressed throughout the tournament as India overcame strong regional competition to clinch the Senior Boys title.
Matonkar also took on an additional responsibility, serving as a Technical Official for the Under-17 Boys and Girls matches while representing India on the court in the senior category.
Sairaj Umesh Amonkar of Saraswat Vidyalaya was selected for India's Under-17 Boys squad but could not travel to Kathmandu after falling ill suddenly.
The Dripball Association of Goa congratulated the players and officials on India's historic clean sweep, describing the achievement as a reflection of the growing standard of Goan talent in the sport.
