All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton: Qualifying top seeds Arjun, Vamsi, Sampitri move closer to main draw

Qualifying top seeds Arjun Tanaji Birajdar (1), Vamsi Krishna Jarugumilli, and Sandeep Kumar R (4) moved a step closer towards the main draw qualification in the U-15 Boys Singles, on day four of the qualifying rounds of the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament, underway at Navelim. 

Number 3 seed Rajdeep Bora on the other hand suffered an upset defeat to Praveen Vanjarapu. 

In Girls Singles U-15, Neetee Chaudhary upset qualifying top seed Seeza (1). Number two seed Sampitri Pal however was in her elements against Anushka S Shanmugavel, winning in straight sets to move within one round of qualification. In U-17 Girls Singles, Aashita Dubey recorded a thrilling three set win over top seed Madhumitha Madan Kumar (1) while Karnika Sree S (2), Mansa Rawat (3) and Krishika Mahajan (4) all progressed closer towards qualification.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the prestigious tournament on Wednesday evening session.

Boys Singles U15 (Round 4 Qualifying): Arjun Tanaji Birajdar (1) bt Neeraj Nair PS 15-9, 15-12; Vamsi Krishna Jarugumilli (2) bt Sanjay Karthik S 15-11, 11-15, 15-12; Sandeep Kumar R (4) bt Rudra Thakur 15-13, 17-15; Praveen Vanjarapu bt Rajdeep Bora (3) 15-8, 15-8.

Girls Singles U15 (Round 3 Qualifying): Neetee Chaudhary bt Seeza (1) 15-12,13-15, 15-8; Sampriti Pal (2) bt Anushka S Shanmugavel 15-5, 15-7; Hitha Maria Jose bt Banashree C Patil 11-15, 15-8, 15-12; D R Akshitha bt Oorja Patel 15-7, 15-12.

Girls Singles U17 (Round 4 Qualifying): Aashita Dubey bt Madhumitha Madan Kumar (1) 15-11, 5-15, 21-19; Karnika Sree S (2) bt Somyaa Bhatnagar 15-8, 16-14; Mansa Rawat (3) bt Ridheema Sarpate 15-10, 15-7; Krishika Mahajan (4) bt Aikya Shetty 16-14, 15-9.
