‘Paradiso Miramar’ is the latest Konkani audio albumfeaturing Goa’s nightingale Lorna to hit the stands. The audio album isdirected and produced by a veteran of Konkani music, Lawrence de Tiracol. Allthe lyrics for the 15 tracks have been penned by Lawrence de Tiracol himself.Hyacinth D’Souza has scored an impressive musical arrangement for the album andthe listener is treated to a variety of musical repertoire, with a wonderfularrangement of different musical instruments that takes the album to abefitting finish. It is a really beautiful album, especially to those who areparticular about the lyrics and music. Lorna’s voice makes it even moreendearing.
An audio album that gives the listener 15 tracks is simply asteal at a nominal price of Rs 150. Not all Konkani albums give you a bonanzaof so many tracks. Lyricist Lawrence de Tiracol who put Lorna on the comebacktrail with his first album ‘Aikat Mhozo Tavo’ in the mid-nineties, has onceagain proved that he can compose lyrics on a variety of subjects which makesthe listener ask for more. The lyrics bring forth the real Goan flavour on avariety of topics, including its cuisine, the land, its culture and its peopletoo. It also has a touching tribute to the motherland through a patriotic song‘Bolidaan’.
‘Paradiso Miramar’ contains 15 tracks on varied topics sungwith a delightful voice by Lorna. Though some of the melodies are Englishtunes, they have been well adapted to our Goan flavour with lyrics that youwill always be humming to. The music vacillates from slow, to pop and rockmusic, giving a listener a wide choice of music. The album has several back-upvoices supported by Lorna Menezes and Caroline Gonsalves, whilst Lawrence deTiracol combines with Lorna to render a duet too.
