Off-spinner Anish Mhaddolkar took 9 for 13 as Bhatikar Model School steamrolled Shenvi School by 271 runs in the semi-finals of the President’s Shield organised by Goa Cricket Association at Arlem grounds, Margao recently.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Tushar Kudnekar (119) and Omkar Bhandari (122) shared a 243 run third-wicket partnership and helped Bhatikar post a huge total of 343 for 4 in the stipulated 40 overs. Shriom Bale scored 21. Sandeep took two wickets and Sameer captured a wicket for Shenvi school. Anish then spun a web around the Shenvi batsmen as none could counter his guile. His nine wickets in an innings may be a record in the school tournament. Shenvi collapsed for a paltry 72.
