Baale Tigers and Priority Titans produced dominant performances to notch up crucial wins in the league matches of the ongoing PGML 5.0 cricket tournament at the Panjim Gymkhana ground on Sunday.

In the morning fixture, Baale Tigers defeated Sherwin Shaw Falcons by 24 runs. Batting first, Baale Tigers posted a strong 188 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Lakshay Garg led from the front with a fluent 52 off 32 balls, including three fours and three sixes, while Niraj Lotlekar chipped in with 38 to lay a solid foundation. Rajaram Kundaikar provided late impetus with a quickfire 37 off just 14 deliveries, striking four boundaries and two sixes.

In reply, Sherwin Shaw Falcons were restricted to 164 runs. Captain Saif Ali Karajgi scored a brisk 40 off 19 balls and Tunish Sawkar added 35 off 17, but the Falcons fell short of the target. Lakshay Garg starred with the ball as well, claiming three wickets, while Prasad Patil supported him with two crucial scalps.

In the afternoon match, Priority Titans outplayed Dempo Challengers by 33 runs. Titans scored 167-8 in alloted 20 overs. Titans' innings was anchored by composed knocks from Atharva (41) and Adeep Prabhu Miskin (33), while Yeshwant Barde made a valuable contribution of 37 off 24 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. For Dempo Challengers, Shailesh was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 30.

Chasing the target, Dempo Challengers struggled despite a fighting half-century from Vishesh, who scored 50 off 32 balls with five fours and two sixes, and support from Dr. Sunny (27). The rest of the batting line-up failed to capitalize, as Dempo were restricted to 134 for 9 in 20 overs. Yeshwant Barde impressed with the ball as well, finishing with 2 for 19, while Dinesh Pai provided able support with 2 for 18.

After Sunday's matches, RC Goa, Priority Titans and Baale Tigers occupy the first, second, and third positions respectively, all with eight points each. They are followed by Manas Mavericks and Sherwin Shaw Falcons with six points apiece, Desserts N More Avengers with four points, and Sun Estate Warriors and Dempo Challengers at the bottom with two points each.
