Goa Super Bodies Powerlifting Association, affiliated to Powerlifting India and Sports Authority of Goa, will host Open Benchpress State level Championship on May 5 at 3 pm.
According to a press note from the organisers, in the past, they have organised several State level, national level and zonal championships and the Goa teams selected have participated in Western India, national level and international conference.
In addition to Open Benchpress State Level Championship, selection trials for the Goa State sub-junior powerlifting teams (men and women) will be held for the tournament organised by Powerlifting India to be held on May 27 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, according to the press release. The Open Benchpress championship and selection trials will be held at Core Fitness Centre, Sky High building, opposite Kidzee School, Jairam Nagar, Dabolim. There will be eight categories based upon body weight - Men: 59kg, 66kg, 74kg, 83kg, 93kg, 105kg, 120kg and 120+kg categories; women: 47kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 72kg, 84kg and 84+kg category.
