Betalbatim Sporting Club knocked out Sarzora Sports Club 4-3 via tiebreaker to move into the semifinals of Mandopa Cup inter village football tournament, at Mandopa ground, on Saturday.
The teams adopted an aggressive approach and it was Sarzora who broke the deadlock when Chadel Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. Spurred by the lead, Sarzora upped the ante and came close to scoring on a few occasions.
With the time running out, Betalbatim Sporting Club made last-ditch efforts and Klusner Pereira equalised after he converted a spot kick.
In the tiebreaker, Betalbatim scored through Klusner, Ronaldo and Oliver, while for Sarzora, Kidram and Chadel found the mark. Betalbatim will meet Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna in semifinals on December 17. TGN
