MARGAO: Betalbatim SC defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, in a penalty shootout to advance to the semi-finals of the 2nd Mansion House Cup 2026 at the Cuncolim Government School Ground on Monday.
The first half witnessed a closely fought contest, with both teams unable to break the deadlock. Betalbatim took the lead in the 34th minute through Riyan Asampur, but Don Bosco Oratory fought back to equalise through Roque Borges in the 49th minute, forcing the match into a tie-breaker.
Betalbatim SC prevailed in the penalty shootout, with Dickson Rogtao, Brenson Fernandes, Joel D'Silva, Raj Kerkar and Gladwin Braganza converting their attempts. For Don Bosco Oratory, Roque Borges, Robin Gomes and Alfred Noronha found the net.
Roque Borges was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Santosh Velip of Tilaknagar Industries.
Betalbatim SC will face Guardian Angel's SC in the semi-finals on September 23.
