A vastly improved performance by the visiting DY Patil school,Kolhapur could not prevent Borda RCC from registering a six-wicket victory in a closely fought friendly series finale at SAG grounds, Fatorda on Wednesday.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first on a batting pitch, the Kolhapur School side were all out for 202 in 40 overs. Manav Chandwani batted well today for a well compiled 69. Abhishek Bhola (35) and Rishikesh Chowgule (18) gave him good support.
Off spinner Tushar Patel (3/15) was the pick of the Borda bowlers. Tushar Kudnekar (2/26), Fardad Postwala (2/30) supported Tushar while Mandar Kurade,Kaushal and Udit Yadav picked up a wicket each.
Kolhapur were sitting pretty with Borda in trouble with 5 wickets down and 60 runs to make but Udit Yadav (40 not out) had other ideas as he stroked Borda to victory in the 39th over. Tushar Kudnekar (53), Pralav Kerkar (22) and Kaushal Singh (35) laid the foundation for the chase.Chetan Shinde, Manav Chandwani and Kiran took 2 wickets each.Kaushal Singh of Borda RCC was adjudged man of the series.
