Chadvaddo started the match with attacking intent as their forwards Elvis and Patras troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. The duo though missed gilt edged chances.
Elvis atoned for his earlier miss, striking for Chadvaddo in the 29th minute with a blistering shot that eluded the rival goalkeeper. Within 10 minutes of the goal, Swington doubled the lead for Chadvaddo with a nicely
placed shot.
The second half continued in same vein with Chadvaddo enjoying the better share of exchanges but could not increase the lead due to tardy marksmanship. With time running out, Fatrade went all out and scored a consolation goal through the boots of Jenito at the fag end.
Chadvaddo were richer by Rs 30,000 and a trophy while Fatrade bagged Rs 20,000 and a trophy.
Patras of Chadvaddo was named as the best defender, while Sedney of Fatrade received the best striker of final prize. Elvis of Chadvaddo got the best midfielder prize and Zedane Carvalho of Repravaddo received the youngest player of the
tournament prize.
Fr Candido Fernandes, parish priest of Varca Church, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Valanka Alemao, CEO of Churchill Brothers Sports Club, Roland Fernandes, Sarpanch of Varca, and Franky Fernandes, AIFF Referee
