Challangers riding on a stellar all-round show by Shubham Chari defeated Sunny Sports Club in a GCA A Division Tiswadi Zone match played at Goa Cricket Academy,
Porvorim.
Electing to bat, Challangers recovered well from an abysmal 38/6 to put up 167 on board.
Shubham Chari was the star of the show coming to the crease at number 7 to power his way to 85 struck in only 68 balls with the help of nine boundaries and a six to be the last man out in the
34th over.
He was instrumental in realizing the bulk of the 91 runs for the last wicket. The next best partnership featuring Chari as well realized only 29 runs.
In the Sunny Sports Club attack, right-arm medium pacer Harris Hooda was the pick of bowlers with 3 for 23.
In their chase, Sunny sports Club folded like a deck of cards for a mere 82 in 22 overs. Challanger’s Shubham Chari came up with the goods again, this time with the ball by dismissing the first three Sunny SC batters cheaply with his right-arm
medium pace.
The other seven wickets to be accounted fell to off breaks with Datta Naik snapping 4 for 20 with Nil Rege picking the other three sticks.
Only middle-order batsman, Sagar Parsekar put up a semblance of a fight for the losing side with a 49-ball 35 which included three hits to the ropes and a six.
