CSC U-13 Futsal: Manovikas, Rosary HS post wins

Manovikas EMS registered their first win with a hard-fought 5-3 victory over Vidya Vikas Academy Margao in the 1st Chowgule Sports Centre U-13 Futsal League at Chowgule Futsal Court.

Lochlan Sousa scored one and assisted two as he played a starring role in his team's victory. Milin Kushwah had a brilliant first half as he made a couple of good saves to keep Manovikas's lead intact. Nefan Vaz scored a hat-trick and Dhruva Pai scored one for Manovikas. Warren Rodrigues scored a brace and Ethan Fernandes scored for VVA Margao.

Rosary HS Navelim continued their fine form as they roared to a 13-2 victory against St Jude HS Betalbatim. Mustafa Bepari scored four, Cain Fernandes grabbed a hat-trick, Messi Rebello and Aryan Tulsimani with a brace each and Snifton Costa and Myvon Vales contributed with one goal each for the winners. Kuldeep Kullu and Reans Gonsalves scored for St Jude HS.

In the third match of the day, Loyola HS Margao were made to sweat before ending up with a comfortable 8-3 victory over Fr Agnel Multipurpose HS Verna. Reuben Barbosa once again starred for his team as he found the back of the net four times, Andreas Furtado scored a brace while Macvin Fernandes and Shane Almeida scored one each. Skler Dias, Mahantesh Gunagi and Elsan Dsouza scored for Fr Agnel Verna.

An inspired second half performance saw YFA come back from a two goal deficit against Infant HS Colva to secure an important 4-2 victory. Infant Jesus HS Scored through Rishikesh Madiwal and Prince Narve to take a 2-0 lead before Elrad Braganza pegged one back before the half time. A dominant YFA scored three in the second half through Aaryav Da Costa, who levelled the score early in the second half, and Trond Dias who scored a brace to seal the victory towards the later stages of the game.

Round 3 of the event will be played on September 20 at Chowgule Futsal Court from 8 am onwards.

Gaude inspects Nehru stadium

MARGAOSports Minister Govind Gaude on Saturday inspected Nehru Stadium, Fatorda and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing renovation works at the venue.The stadium will host 16 matches of the Oct 11-30 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
