Novo Vaddo sounded early scare when striker Milagres Fernandes unleashed a shot which was well blocked by Cumborda goalkeeper Johnson Bhagat.rCrossing over, Cumborda enjoyed the lion’s share of exchanges and called the shots against the rival citadel.They had two scoring chances when Milagres Fernandes and Nevil Fernandes, both turned out to be the culprits as they fumbled in front of the Novo Vaddo goal. The all-important goal came in the 40th minute when rival defender Myson Fernandes handled the ball inside the penalty box and the referee awarded the spot-kick. Myron Fernandes converted the spot-kick to send the rival goalkeeper the wrong way. Cumborda pip Novo Vaddo for inter-ward title
Cumborda edged past Novo Vaddo 1-0 to win the 3rd Jose and Franky memorial inter-ward football tournament organised by Sporting Club Virabhat-Curtorim at Church grounds, Curtorim on Sunday.
