Vasco Veterans down San Jose de Areal 1-0
A lone strike by Andrew Teodosio towards the end guided a gritty Vasco Veterans to a 1-0 win over San Jose de Areal Veterans and into the finals of the Ninth Navelim Inter-village Veterans Football Cup at Rosary Ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Up against a star-studded San Jose de Areal side, Vasco Veterans preferred to lie in wait patiently. That lone chance came with less than five minutes remaining for the final whistle when Andrew Teodosio latched on to a deft ball from hard-working Vishant Pednekar to sprint and place it past Glorio D’Mello in the San Jose de Areal goal.
