Davorlim Veterans made short work of Quepem Veterans 4-1 to cruise into the quarter-finals of All Goa Flame of Unity Veterans football tournament organized by Flame of Unity, Per Seraulim at Mabai Grounds, Per Seraulim on Tuesday. Davorlim Veterans led 2-1 at the breather.
Davorlim Veterans dominated the proceedings and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Davorlim Veterans surged ahead when their striker's shot deflected from the leg of rival defender and eluded the goalkeeper. Francisco Colaco doubled the lead midway in the opening sessions.
Stung by the double blows, Quepem Veterans piled on the pressure and managed to reduce the margin late in the first half when Jose Fernandes beat the rival goalkeeper with a rasping shot.
After the break, Francisco Colaco increased the tally when he outwitted a couple of defenders and flicked the ball into the net.Jaison Cardozo sealed the rival fate late in the second half.
