DM’s College, Assagao beat Dempo College, Cujira to win the Inter Collegiate cricket championship for women organised by Goa University at University ground, Taleigao Plateau.
Dempo College won the toss and scored 88 runs in 19.4 overs after batting first. Captain Leena Gaunso (23) was the lone batter to reach the double figures.
Sugandha Ghadi, who took 4 wickets for 36 runs, and Rakshanda Pilankar (2 for 7) were the pick of
the bowlers.
DM’s College raced to victory in 12 overs, losing only one wicket. Sugandha Ghadi (30 not out) and Shreya Parab (40 not out) carried
DM’s home.
Sugandha Ghadi was declared Woman of the Championship, Shreya Parab was awarded Woman of the match. Sukanya Narvekar of Dempo College was awarded Best Bowler.
