Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda emerged champions of the 47th St Joseph Festival Football Tournament 2026, defeating Fr Agnel Youth Club Paroda 6-5 in a tie-breaker at the Dramapur ground on Sunday.
The final ended 2-2 in regulation time. Steve Menezes gave Paroda the lead in the 28th minute, but Roque Borges equalised for Fatorda four minutes later. Kanchan Kiro put Paroda ahead again in the 42nd minute before Hanslum Furtado restored parity for Fatorda in the 50th minute.
Fatorda held their nerve in the tie-breaker to secure the title.
Borges was named Man of the Final, while Paroda’s Godwin won the Best Forward award and Joel was adjudged Best Half. Alfred of Fatorda received the Best Defender award, while teammate Glen was named Best Goalkeeper. Menezes received the First Scorer of the Final award. St Anthony SC Assolda won the Best Disciplined Team award.
Former Goa chief minister Luizinho Faleiro was the chief guest, while Velim MLA Cruz Silva presided over the function. Other dignitaries included Dramapur-Sirlim panchayat sarpanch Avita Pereira, Zilla Panchayat member Malifa Cardozo and Goa Football Association vice-president Anthony Pango.
Organising secretary Seby Soares welcomed the guests and thanked the donors. The club also felicitated students who excelled in the SSC examinations. The tournament was organised by Dramapur Sports Club.
