Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona emerged victorious in both the Men’s and Women’s categories at the Goa University Cross Country Championship 2025-26, held recently at the Goa University Campus, Taleigao.
In the Men’s division, the Canacona-based college secured the championship title with a total of 26 points. Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem clinched second place with 55 points, while Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem secured third with 63 points.
In the Women’s category, Shree Mallikarjun and Shri. Chetan Manju Desai College once again took the top spot, finishing with 31 points. Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim followed in second place with 41 points, and Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem came in third with 44 points.
The competition featured a 10 km race for both men and women. The race was flagged off by Dr. Satyavan Harmalkar, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Narayan Zantye College, Bicholim, and Dr. Rupa Chari, Officiating Principal of Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona.
The presentation ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Rupa Chari, Guest of Honour Dr. Savio Leitai, College Director of Physical Education and Sports at Shree Mallikarjun College, along with SAG Coaches P.D. Shashikumar and Devi Gaonkar, and Balachandra B. Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University. Trophies and medals were awarded to the top-performing teams and athletes.
