Fatrade B trounced Calvaddo 4-1 to move into the semi-final of the Chelsea Memorial Varca inter-ward football organised by United Boys of Varca at Varca ground
on Friday.
Fatrade took control of the match and had a golden chance to surge ahead but rival goalkeeper Melorie was rock solid and blocked a Francis attempt. Fatrade opened the floodgates when Francis nodded home off a well measured chip from Avinash in the fourth minute.
The early goal spurred Fatrade as they mounted more pressure on the rival goal. It saw a good passing bout between Avinash and Francis and the last named punted the ball home much to the delight of Fatrade supporters in the sixth
minute.
Minutes later, Calvado tried a solo through Carmo but Fatrade keeper Stafford was equal to the task. Francis registered his hat-trick after the change of ends. Krisley added his name to the scorers' list. After taking a 4-0 cushion, Fatrade conceded a defensive goal when Landan tapped it in in the dying
minutes.
​Fatrade B will meet the winners of Pedda B-Novangully match, in the semi-finals on September 6.
