FC Bardez Goa will play Sporting Clube de Goa in Life Cup Charity match at Duler Football Stadium on September 23 under floodlights. The match will start at 7 pm.
The match proceeds will be donated for the treatment of Rev Fr Victor Rodrigues, former Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Hope Church, Candolim and presently the Assistant Parish Priest of St Lawrence Church, Agassaim. Rodrigues is undergoing treatment for cancer in Mumbai. According to an appeal made by his family, they are in urgent need of financial aid for his speedy recovery.
The priest's friends from Candolim along with all the football lovers of Goa are organising the Life Cup in order to raise funds for his treatment. Donation coupons (entry pass) for the Charity match are priced at Rs 100 for general seating and Rs 500 for VIP seating. Tickets will be available at Saxa's Collections, Candolim, Delfino's Supermarket, Porvorim, Champs, Panaji and at the Duler Stadium on the match day.
FC Bardez Goa come into this match with a loss at the hands of Gokulam FC in the AWES Cup. The Pink Brigade will look to get back to winning ways and get a victory before the start of the Goa Professional League.
Sporting Clube de Goa drew with Gokulam FC in the group stages. The Flaming Oranje will also look for a victory as they lost their last encounter with FC Bardez Goa in the Goa Professional League last season.
