FC Bardez hold SCG with tremendous fightback

FC Bardez came from behind to draw 3-3 against Sporting Clube de Goa in the GFA Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.
Sporting dominated the opening 10 minutes of the match. Sporting skipper Victorino Fernandes had a shot at goal after a short run with the ball but his shot lacked accuracy. After some crisp passing between the Sporting midfielders, Glan Martins played an accurate through-ball to Philip Odogwu, but his attempt was well-collected by Bardez goalkeeper Aliston Fernandes.
Bardez's Inacio Colaco tried a shot at goal but was well-blocked by the Sporting defence. Sporting got their first goal in the 24th minute after Marcus Mascarenhas played a fine pass to Philip Odogwu on the right flank, and the latter took a neat shot that hit the upright, before the ball went in.
Bardez had a good chance to equalise through Clinton Niasso who, however, shot the ball over the crossbar after a lovely cross played to him by Kritikesh Gadekar from the left flank. Bardez's Jessel tried a shot from distance, but he was very much off-target
After the half-time interval, FC Bardez looked revitalised. However, they were rattled in the 54th minute after Caitano Viegas scored an own goal, deflecting Victorino's pass into his own goal. Clinton Niasso showed quick-feet before attempting his shot, that went wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Glan Martins made it 3-0 for Flaming Oranje after he blasted in a shot from 30 yards off a pass from Quan Gomes
FC Bardez then staged a tremendous fightback. They managed to pull one back in the 71st minute through Chatur Naik who tapped home the ball after Sporting goalkeeper Ozen Silva failed to hold on to the shot from Shubham Desai.
Marcus Mascarenhas nearly got his name on the scoresheet as his shot hit the crossbar as Sporting failed to regain the three-goal lead. In the 85th minute, Sporting defender Sodiq Ibrahim scored an own goal deflecting home the pass by Caitano Viegas as hapless Sporting goalkeeper Ozen Silva watched in horror. Deep into the 90+ injury time, Inacio Colaco scored the equaliser as he slotted the ball home after Ozen Silva failed to hold on to the ball yet again, off a cross by Jessel Carneiro.
