Former coach elated over Indian hockey team's entry into Olympic semis

MARGAO
Former Indian coach Clarance Lobo expressed his delight on Sunday over the team’s advancement to the semifinals of the Paris Olympics in France.

Lobo, visibly elated, praised the team's performance, highlighting their resilience despite facing significant challenges.

"Given the circumstances, I am more than happy with their performance," Lobo said. He noted that Amit Rohidas received a red card, forcing India to play with only 10 players for 42 minutes. Despite this setback, the team defended admirably.

"Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh played a crucial role, saving six potential goals. India maintained 60% ball possession compared to 40% for their opponents in the shootout, where Sreejesh saved two critical shots," Lobo said.
