Elvis Gomes, President,of Goa Football Association, while congratulating the team, stated: "Team FC Goa has shown that playing beautiful football is still in fashion and can be rewarding. All FC Goa games are a treat to watch and credit should go to the team management for sticking to this attacking style of play. Importantly, Zico has given sufficient playing time to all their players, and the fact that the team has eight Goans in its ranks, has endeared the team to the public. Zico has shown us that Goans do not lag behind, and if given the right exposure and encouragement can outshine even the best in the business on their day.”
