After a disappointing show in the opening match United Club of Telaulim (UCT) bounced back into a winning mode with an 8-0 victory over Compassion FC in the 5th GFA Vedanta Women’s League at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Tuesday.
The highlight of the day was a brilliant five-goal blitz by junior international striker Karen Estrocio while Stessi Cardozo scored a hat-trick.
The UCT under their new coach Francis Lobo dominated the entire game and pushed their opponents on the back foot.
UCT had more of the chances and in the 10th minute when Karen Estrocio opened the flood gates. Two minutes later Karen doubled the lead while in the 36th minute, Stessi Cardozo added her name on score-list.
Crossing over UCT virtually toyed with the rival weak defence. Karen registered her hat-trick in the 51st minute. Four minutes later Karen inflated the tally.
At the other end, Compassion FC were struggling to contain the rival ramping forwards. In the 73rd minute Stessi scored a brace while Karen who was in thick of action scored her fifth goal and the team’s seventh goal. Stessi then drove the last nail into the rival coffin to register her hattrick.
With this win, UCT registered its first win from two matches while Compassion FC is yet to record a win from 3 matches.
