Goa registered a hard-fought two-wicket victory over Himachal Pradesh in a low-scoring league match of the CAP U-19 Men's Inter State One-Day Tournament (Siechem Trophy 2026) at Siechem CAP Ground 3, Puducherry, on Friday. Chasing a modest target of 96, Goa reached 96/8 in 19 overs after surviving a dramatic batting collapse.
After opting to bat, Himachal Pradesh were bundled out for just 95 in 19.4 overs. Japneet Singh top-scored with 17 runs, while captain Jayaditya Dogra contributed 14 and Aditya Kataria added 13. Goa's bowlers dominated the innings, with Vedant Dabral claiming 4/49, Mihir Kudalkar returning impressive figures of 3/7, and Govind Sawal taking 3/39 to restrict the opposition.
Goa's chase was far from comfortable as they slipped to 62/8 despite Mohit Yadav's 17. Himachal's Naunihaal threatened to pull off a sensational win with figures of 4/36, while Ansh Dhiman picked up two wickets. However, Mihir Kudalkar produced a match-winning unbeaten knock of 37 off just 25 balls, smashing five sixes at a strike rate of 148.00. He guided Goa safely to the target alongside Jai Kanguri, who remained unbeaten on one, sealing victory with six balls to spare.
Kudalkar's all-round performance; an unbeaten 37 with the bat and 3/7 with the ball—proved decisive, earning him the MoM award.
