MARGAO: United Boys Mobor booked their place in the final of the Victor Cardozo Memorial Football Tournament with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bandoi Boys in the first semi-final.

The opening half was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to break the deadlock as the score remained goalless at the interval.

United Boys Mobor struck the decisive blow just a minute into the second half when Jorvey rose highest to head home from close range, leaving Bandoi goalkeeper Alex with no chance.

Bandoi Boys responded by launching a series of attacks in search of an equaliser, but United Boys defenders Gavin and Daniel produced a disciplined performance at the back, thwarting every attempt.

At the other end, Alex kept Bandoi in the contest with a fine save to deny Jorvey his second goal of the match.

Despite Bandoi's late pressure, United Boys Mobor held firm to seal a narrow victory and advance to the tournament final.
