Goa suffered a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Uttarakhand in the `D` group match in the Vijay Merchant Trophy Elite (U-16) cricket tournament.
Chasing a target of 63 runs for victory, Uttarakhand achieved it in 13.5 overs without losing a single wicket. This three-day match was played at the BSP Cricket Stadium in Bhilai.
Replying to Goa's first-innings total of 181 runs, Uttarakhand had declared their first innings at 295 for 9. By the end of the second day, Goa were 76 for 2 in their second innings. On the third day, Goa's second innings folded for 176 runs in 71.4 overs.
For Uttarakhand, Arav Gupta took 7 wickets for 34 runs in the second innings. For Goa, opener Jaden Pereira scored the highest 43 runs. Sairaj Govekar added 34, while Shaunak Teli contributed 26 runs. Goa will play their next match against Baroda from December 12.
