The Goa Under-23 cricket team have begun a pre-season training camp in Delhi as part of their preparations for the upcoming BCCI domestic season.
The camp is aimed at improving the players' fitness, technical skills and match readiness through intensive training sessions.
Avadoot Amonkar is the head coach, with Aditya Naik serving as fielding coach. The support staff also include strength and conditioning coach Deepak Sahu, physiotherapist Vivek Kumar Mishra, masseur Joshua Talwar and team manager Gautam Komarpant.
According to the Goa Cricket Association (GCA), the camp is intended to provide the squad with structured preparation and valuable exposure ahead of the domestic season while creating a professional environment for the development of emerging players.
GCA president and former Ranji player Mahesh Dessai said the camp was designed to ensure the players were ready for the demands of domestic cricket. "Our objective is to ensure that every player is well prepared to meet the demands of the domestic season," Dessai said.
He said the camp would provide an opportunity for the players to "enhance their skills, improve their fitness and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment."
"We are committed to nurturing young talent and building a strong future for Goa cricket," he added.
GCA secretary Tulsidas Shetye said the association remained focused on providing young cricketers with quality training facilities and support staff.
"This pre-season camp is an important step in their preparation, and we are confident the players will benefit immensely from the exposure and structured coaching," Shetye said. He wished the team a successful and productive camp.
