Goa registered a convincing 43-run victory over Chandigarh in the Senior Women’s T20 Elite tournament on Tuesday at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Goa posted a challenging 154 for five in 20 overs. Their bowlers then restricted Chandigarh to 111 for nine.

Goa’s top-order batters laid the foundation for a competitive total. Opener Harshita Yadav top-scored with 45 off 42 balls, hitting seven boundaries. She shared a 58-run opening partnership with Purvaja Verlekar, who contributed 25.

Tejaswini Durgad (19 off 15 balls) and Shikha Pandey (18 off 12 balls) helped accelerate the scoring. Wicketkeeper-batter Vinavi Gurav provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 31 off just 20 balls. Captain Sunanda Yetrekar played an effective finishing role, scoring an unbeaten 14 off four deliveries. Kumari Shibi claimed all five wickets for Chandigarh.

Chasing 155, Chandigarh struggled against Goa’s disciplined bowling attack. They were reduced to 52 for four in 9.5 overs before attempting to accelerate the scoring. However, they could not get close to Goa’s total.

Aaradhana Bisht top-scored for Chandigarh with 21, while Monika Pandey made 17 and Sarah Kumar contributed 16. Shreya Parab led Goa’s bowling effort with three wickets for 13 runs. Poorva Bhaidekar claimed two wickets, while Shikha Pandey, Metali Gavandar and Sunanda Yetrekar took one wicket each.
