MARGAO
The annual signature cycle ride ‘Go Girls Go’, was organised by Margao-based Xaxti Riders. Goan girls and women completed 100-km and 50-km riding challenges despite inclement weather, on Sunday.
The 4th anniversary rides were flagged off from Ravindra Bhavan, Margao by Althea Fernandes, only woman Xaxti Rider to finish the IronMan 70.3 and Allan Abreu , senior-most Xaxti Rider IronMan 70.3 finisher, respectively.
The 130 cyclists rode along the coastal route, Zuari Bridge and through the villages of Rassai, Lotoulim, Raia, Curtorim, Chandor, Chichinim, Assolna and Velim. They were treated to refreshments and breakfast at various points, and the lunch at the finish point at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The cyclists were presented with finisher’s medal.
The cyclists, aged 11 to 70 years, were a mix of doctors, architects, dentists, teachers, lawyers and students.
