Desserts N More Avengers cruised to a commanding six-wicket win over Vimson Panjim Powerplay in the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust at the MCC ground under floodlights on Wednesday.
After winning the toss, the Avengers opted to bowl and restricted Vimson Panjim Powerplay to 122 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. Arsh Sardesai top-scored with a brisk 55 off 34 balls, striking four boundaries and three sixes, while Gaurish Agni and Nimay Kamat chipped in with 17 runs each. Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar led the bowling effort with figures of 2 for 15.
Chasing a modest target, Desserts N More Avengers overhauled the total comfortably, reaching 125 for four in just 13.2 overs. Smit Dalvi maintained his fine form with a 39 off 26 balls, including three fours and three sixes. Contributions from Sachin Bhandare (21) and an unbeaten 22 from Saish Hegde ensured there were no late hiccups. Shivam Varik was the pick of the bowlers for Vimson Panjim Powerplay with 2 for 15.
