Mumbai City close to netting Salgaocar's Jackichand Singh

Former Costa Rican midfielder Alexandre Henrique Borges Guimaraes would be the head coach of Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Mumbai City FC for the third season of the franchise-based football league.
Guimaraes is known for his fine achievements as the head coach of the Costa Rica national squad, leading the country past the qualifying stages of the 2002 and the 2006 FIFA World Cups, a Mumbai City FC media release said on Tuesday.
He started coaching Costa Rican club Belen, then moved to Herediano in the summer of 1996, and had achieved good results with both teams.
Meanwhile, Mumbai City FC are close to agreeing a deal for attacking Salgaocar FC midfielder Jackichand Singh for the 2016-17 edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), a source close to the club said.
The 24-year-old played for FC Pune City last year in the ISL and is currently playing for Salgaocar FC until the end of the season.
This season he has scored two goals in 11 appearances but has a number of assists to his name for the Greens.
With pace to burn, Jackichand’s addition further strengthens the Mumbai outfit who have the likes of Sunil Chhetri, Pronay Halder, Udanta Singh, Lalchuanmmawia Fanai, Albino Gomes, Ashutosh Mehta, Aiborlang Khongjee and Lalhmangaihsanga Ralte.
