HC dismisses Sportsweek's writ petition to stall GCA AGM
The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Wednesday dismissed the writ petition filed by Sportsweek Cricket Club, an affiliate of Goa Cricket Association after the Margao club had only a day before approached the High Court brining to its notice the "illegal acts" committed by the GCA with regards to the implementation of the Lodha reforms.

Justice Gautam Patel and Justice Nutan Sardessai dismissed the writ petition (No.2873) with the liberty to the petitioner to approach the court if he feels aggrieved. Justice Patel said "let the GCA meet" happen which is scheduled on September 10. Should the petitioner (Hemant Angle, secretary of Sportsweek) find that the GCA constitution is not amended according to the Lodha reforms, the court shall listen to the petitioner again. Angle had in his petition urged the High Court to appoint an Amicus Curiae to inspect and examine the Draft Amendment of the GCA in relation to the recommendation given by the Lodha Committee. Angle, a former Ranji cricketer, has also requested the court to postpone or reschedule the GCA's annual general body meeting to facilitate the amendments.
