Goans Hockey suffered their heaviest defeat of the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026, going down 0-9 to Hockey Karnataka in a one-sided Division ‘B’, Pool B encounter in Pune, Maharashtra.
Hockey Karnataka dominated from the start, scoring twice inside the opening six minutes. Pearlin Ponnamma A.G. opened the account in the fourth minute before Manish Ponnamma CD (C) doubled the lead two minutes later.
Lakshmi struck twice in the 19th and 29th minutes to give Karnataka a commanding 4-0 advantage at half-time.
The Karnataka side continued its relentless attack after the break. Manish Ponnamma added her second in the 46th minute, while Pearlin completed her hat-trick in the 48th minute.
Meher Kaur Mehta made it 7-0 in the 52nd minute before Lakshmi added her second four minutes later. Pearlin rounded off a memorable individual performance by scoring her fourth goal in the 59th minute to complete the 9-0 rout.
