U-11 State chess selection
MARGAO: Salcete Taluka Chess Association will conduct All Goa U-11 State Chess Selection 2016 in Open and Girls category on May 28 and 29 at Nehru Stadium, Old Gym Hall, Fatorda, here. The first round will commence at 9.30 am on May 28. Entry fee is Rs 250 and GCA registration can be done at venue. Trophies will be distributed. Entries will close on May 26 at 4pm. Players born on or after January 1, 2005 are allowed to participate. Entries may be submitted to Sanjay Kavlekar, Swapnil Hoble, Damodar Zambaulikar, Geeta Kantak, Amogh Namshekar, Sanjay Belurkar, Wilson Cruz, Avinash Malvankar. The top 2 players in each category will be selected to represent Goa at the Nationals to be held at Raipur, Chattisgarh in June.
Football tourney at Moira
PANAJI: Altar Servers of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Moira will be organising 7-a-side football tournament on May 23 at AA de Moira club grounds. The reporting timing is 9.45 am and the tournament will kick start at 10.30 am. Players born after January 1, 1999 are eligible to play. Winners will be given a trophy and cash prize of Rs 5,000 and runners-up will take home trophy and cash prize of Rs 2,500. The entry fee of Rs 200 per team will be charged.
